TIFT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ACTIVITY MARCH 2017
Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough reported the following activity for the Sheriff’s Office in March 2017.
He said deputies conducted 2,272 business and property checks, 506 Mobile Home Park and subdivision checks, 108 school checks, and answered 2,907 calls for service. He said deputies served 121 warrants, 74 civil papers, and 228 subpoenas.
The sheriff said that deputies arrested 146 people, some on multiple charges. He said 35 charges of parole / probation violation were filed, 22 drug charges, 19 property crimes, 14 crimes against persons, 13 failure to appear, 9 fraud charges, 5 weapons charges, 4 charges of child support violations, 6 obstruction charges and 16 other non-traffic charges.
Scarbrough said that traffic stops lead to the filing of 21 charges of driving with suspended or revoked license, 3 charges of driving under the influence, the arrests of 3 persons on drug charges and 2 wanted persons.
He said that deputies completed 575 reports, 39 accident reports, issued 654 citations, 177 warnings, and patrolled 73,862 miles and verified the residence address of 63 registered sex offenders residing in the county.
The sheriff said the transport division handled 105 transports, totaling 295 hours and 10,270 miles.
